Trip to St George

Invitation to attend VIP Grand Re-opening

Gary and I were invited to attend the VIP Ribbon Cutting for the McDonald's Blvd store in St George on January 31st.  The Parrish's are my boss(es) and they rented a room at the Windham Windgate for us to stay in.  A very nice evening - a local Boy Scout troop did a flag ceremony and then a ribbon cutting with the Parrish's, McDonald Executives and some other important VIPs.  Then an open buffet for all attending (not McDonald food), a tour of the new building and visiting. 

Gary worked at the original McDonald's when it first opened in 1974 - was on the first night crew and was the night shift manager while in high school.  He called one of his friends - Steve Flowers - who also worked there and they (Kathy is wife) came over and they sat and reminisced of the old days working there! 

Later that evening when we went back to the motel, we enjoyed the hot tub - which was outside, the weather for St George was unusually cold.  A wonderful continental breakfast was available through the motel.

We drove back to Mt Pleasant late Tuesday morning - there were strong winds most of the way home along Interstate 15 - I didn't like passing the semis with that strong of winds!!

PS Charlie was very happy to see us come home.  We had him chained to the front deck while we gone - he likes being inside and with people!!
